WINTER PARK, Fla. (March 12, 2023) – The Rollins women's rowing team hosted and were able to defeat the Florida Gators and the Merrimack Warriors yesterday in all six events at the Rollins Invitational. "The team continues to grow and gain confidence in their abilities," said Head Coach

The morning started with wins in the Varsity 8 and the Second Varsity 8. The novices from each of these boats then jumped in the Novice 8 and were able to go out and follow in their footsteps. This was the first time the Rollins Novice 8 was able to race this year and what a great experience for them. The entire boat consisted of athletes who had never taken strokes before this year and a couple who just started in January, including
Dinah Rofman,
Kendall Boardman,
Khloe Smith,
Nina Nikolic,
Sarah Monroy,
Olivia Prelog,
Julia Wike,
Maria Littman, and
Miranda Fritsch.
Rollins then rowed and posted wins in the Varsity 4, Varsity 4 "B", Novice 4 and Lightweight 4. "I really like when we can double and triple race this early in the season," mentioned Coach Pistor. "Rowing all of these boats allows us continued training, more race experience and the opportunity to see what line-up combinations just work."
The team gets a couple needed days off as Rollins starts it spring break. The team will be back this week for their spring break training and then finish the week hosting the Spring Break Race on Lake Maitland on Saturday, March 18th. The teams attending will be Wesleyan University, Florida State and Florida Tech. Racing is set to start at 7:50 am and this will be the final home regatta before the team hits the road for the remainder of their season.
