SARASOTA, Fla. (March 28, 2026) – The Rollins women's rowing team put together a strong and well-rounded performance at the Sarasota 2K, earning six medals while continuing to build momentum toward the postseason.
The day began with gusty conditions and bumpy water, particularly impacting the Division II races. Despite the challenging environment, the Tars delivered a strong showing against conference competition as they continue their push toward an NCAA Championship bid.
The DII Varsity 4+ set the tone early, finishing second behind Nova Southeastern and ahead of Embry-Riddle, with an impressive 16-second margin over the Eagles. The Varsity 8+ followed with a third-place finish, crossing the line 15 seconds behind Embry-Riddle and just seven seconds behind Florida Tech, continuing to close the gap with top competition.
Rollins showcased its depth throughout the day, with athletes doubling and tripling across multiple boats to maximize both racing and development opportunities.
The Tars placed three boats in the Women's Pair (2-), finishing first, second, and fourth:
Rollins also brought home gold in both the Women's JV 4+ and Second Varsity 4+.

The 2V4 race proved to be one of the most exciting of the day, with crews battling back and forth throughout the course before the Tars pulled through for the win.
Rollins added a second-place finish in the Novice 4+ and a fifth-place finish in the Varsity 4+, rounding out a productive day across all entries.
"We still have a lot of work ahead of us," said head coach Thompson, "but this is positive for us in so many ways going into the DII Invite next weekend."
Rollins will return to action April 3–4 at the DII Invite in Clearmont, where the Tars will face a national field, including several West Coast programs, in one of the most important regattas of the season.
