KILLEN, Ala. (Oct. 17, 2023) – The Rollins men's golf team earned an eighth-place finish at the MartinFed Invitational hosted by North Alabama. Competing as the only NCAA II team in a field of 11 teams, the Tars shot +18 to place eighth, finishing ahead of NCAA I schools Lindenwood, Western Illinois, and Alabama A&M.
Jacob Hair was the top Tar finisher, tying for 19th with an even-par 216 (74-72-70).
Nicholas Diebel tied for 33rd at 221 (77-72-72), with
Franco Misdorp two strokes back in a tie for 40th (76-74-73=223).
Drew Lanier (73-77-77) and Robert Greninger (72-77-78) tied for 49th with 227s. Sean Dobson (76-74-73=223, T-40th) and
RJ Glod (72-75-77=224, T-44th) also competed as individuals in the tournament.
North Alabama won the event at 20-under, followed by Auburn's "B" team (-18) and Purdue Fort Wayne (-6). Alabama's JP Cave was the individual medalist, shooting -15, with Troy's Lee Poppell in second (-12) and Auburn's Josiah Gilbert in third (-11).
