WINTER PARK, Fla. (Jan. 28, 2023) – The Rollins men's swimming team picked up its fifth win of the season in dominant fashion on Saturday, defeating visiting Florida Tech by a score of 204-58. The Tars finish the regular season with a 5-7 record in dual meets, while the Panthers drop to 1-4.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Tars got a win in the opening event thanks to a time of 3:24.64 posted by Skylar Murphy, Tully Njoroge, Luke Dinges, and William Slowey in the 400-yard medley relay.
- Connor Xu was the first to touch the wall in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 9:48.55.
- Trey Carter made it three wins in a row with the top time of 1:42.50 in the 200-yard freestyle.
- Jac Reville was first in the 100-yard backstroke in 52.70.
- Njoroge stopped the clock in 56.62 to win the 100-yard breaststroke.
- Dinges kept the victories coming for the Tars with a winning time of 1:51.38 in the 200-yard butterfly.
- Slowey took home a win with a time of 21.20 in the 50-yard freestyle.
- Carter got his second individual win of the day with a time of 46.74 in the 100-yard freestyle.
- Murphy was the top Tar finisher in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:54.76.
- Slowey earned another victory with a winning time of 2:07.49 in the 200-yard breaststroke.
- Chance Ricca recorded a win with a time of 4:46.27 in the 500-yard freestyle.
- Dinges got a second individual win when he touched the wall first with a time of 49.97 in the 100-yard butterfly.
- Njoroge captured a win in the final individual event, clocking a 4:12.73 in the 400-yard individual medley.
- The quartet of Dolly, Ricca, Carter, and Slowey finished the day with a first-place time of 1:25.23 in the 200-yard freestyle relay.

The Tars will have a couple of weeks to prepare for the Sunshine State Conference Championships which are slated for Feb. 15-19 in Clearwater.
