BROOKSVILLE, Fla. (Sept. 13, 2022) – The Rollins men's golf team concluded The Griffin Invitational hosted by Saint Leo at Southern Hills Golf Club in Brooksville on Tuesday. The Tars shot a 302 in the final round for a total of 897 (297-298-302) to finish tied for ninth with Valdosta State (299-301-297).
Axel Einarsson was the top finisher for the Tars, finishing tied for 29th after shooting 78 on Tuesday to finish with a 222 (74-70-78), while
Nicholas Diebel tied for 33rd (74-74-75=223) and Will Koepke tied for 39th (73-77-74=224). Warut Wongrungro ended the event tied for 56th (76-77-76=229) and
Connor Jones was tied for 59th (76-77-77=230).
Playing as individuals,
Jacob Hair finished tied with Diebel in 33rd with a 75-71-77=223, while
Wigo Weisner was 39th alongside Koepke with a 75-73-76=224. Drew Lanier tied for 61st after shooting a 231 (77-73-81).
West Florida topped the field with a 16-under 848 (274-289-285) to finish six strokes ahead of Barry (285-284-285=854). Nova Southeastern recorded an 860 (293-281-286) to place third, ahead of Lynn (291-286-290=867) and Tampa (291-296-290=877).
Barry's A.J. Ewart was the individual medalist after shooting an 11-under 205 (66-70-69), while West Florida's Felipe Garces Garzon (67-71-72) and Elias Haavisto (70-72-68) along with NSU's Michael Hay (71-68-71) all tied for second with 210s. Barry's Nicolas Quintero rounded out the individual top five with a 211 (71-70-70).
