Diebel Highlights First 36 Holes of the Battle at the Shore

Rollins sits eighth after two rounds of play at the Battle at the Shore at Normandy Shores Golf Club

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. (April 4, 2022) – Rollins sits eighth after two rounds of play at the Battle at the Shore at Normandy Shores Golf Club.  Nicholas Diebel is tied for fifth to pace the Tars individually.

The Tars opened with a round of 294, ten over par.  Rollins then followed that up, playing the second 18 holes to a score of 290, good for a 36 hole total of 584, 16 over par.  Rollins sits eighth overall, just seven shots out of the top five, and three shots clear of Palm Beach Atlantic behind them.
 
The hosts, and top-ranked, Barry, lead the way at two under, and are the only team below par.  Nova Southeastern rank second, while Eastern Florida State college and Lynn both jumped four places in the second round to sit at third and fourth respectively.  Barry's second team rounds out the top five.

Diebel birdied holes 10, 12, 13, and 14 on his way to an opening round 69, two under.  He followed that up with a one over, 72, in the second round to sit in a tie for fifth at one under par through 36 holes.  Danny Taggart opened play with a 72, before carding a 74 in the second round to sit in a tie for 34th on the leaderboard.  Connor Jones opened with a 77, but rose up the standing 27 spots, landing in a tie for 39th, with an even par, 71, on his second 18 holes.  Warut Wongrungroj tallied scores of 76 and 74 to rank 48th.  Will Koepke opened with an 80, before improving his score to a 73 in the second round, rounding out the Rollins lineup in a tie for 66th.
 
Ian Aldarondo, of Embry-Riddle, is alone in first at four under par.  Felipe Alvarez, of Barry, and Eloy Vigil, of Lynn, are one stroke off the pace, in a tie for second.  Barry's A.J. Ewart is alone in fourth at two under.  Diebel is part of a five way tie for fifth at one under.
