The Tars' day started with the Men's Novice 4 Semifinal. Rollins finished fifth in their semifinal heat. The tars were just three second back of Duke, and six seconds out of third place, and an A Final berth. The Tars then turned in a very competitive row in the B Final, crossing the line in 7:34.59, just off the pace set by Stetson, but in front of Duke, Purdue, North Carolina, and Northwestern State. Rollins came back from fourth place at the start to walk Duke and Purdue in the final 400 meters
Â
The Rollins Men's Pair collected a fourth place finish in their A Final. Despite steering issues to start the event, that dug Rollins a deep hole, the duo finished just two seconds out of a podium position, as they crossed the finish line in 7:48.39, just seconds behind Embry-Riddle.
Â
The Tars' Men's Novice 8 registered their second place finishing bow to stern on, the winners, Virginia. Rollins was also able to open up the gap on Purdue from the semifinals the day before. The race also featured the Boilermakers, Clemson, North Carolina, and Mississippi State, but those boats were never in contention with the Tars or the Cavaliers.
WHAT COACH SAYS:
"The B Final for the Men's Novice 4 was an incredible race. These guys showed incredible grit today. They made Rollins proud! The Pairs had a rough start and some steering issues that put the boat back early and, though they dug deep, Edwards and Fernandez felt they should have posted a much better finish. Our Novice 8 made up four seconds from their previous race, last week.

UP NEXT:
Rollins will now prepare for the Dad Vail Regatta which is set to take place in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on May 13-14.
