OAK RIDGE, Tenn. – Rollins men's rowing opened competition at the 2026 SIRA Championships on Saturday, facing a highly competitive field as crews worked through heats and semifinal rounds to set up Sunday's finals.
The Tars saw their top result come from the Men's Novice 8, which advanced to the grand final and will compete for a medal on Sunday. The crew posted the fourth-fastest time of the day and will line up against a strong field that includes Virginia and two Purdue boats.
Rollins will also be represented in multiple finals on Sunday. The Men's Pair qualified for the petite final after a consistent day of racing, positioning themselves to improve on their standing and challenge for a top finish in the second-level final.
In the Men's Varsity 8, the Tars will compete in the third-level final after posting times comparable to several crews in their field. With limited head-to-head racing against these opponents during earlier rounds, Rollins will look to put together its strongest race of the weekend and close out the regatta on a high note.
Finals racing is set for Sunday, with the Tars aiming to build on Saturday's performances and push for strong finishes across the board.
