LAKELAND, Fla. (April 12, 2022) – Rollins finishes the 2022 campaign with an eighth place result at the Sunshine State Conference Championships at Grasslands Golf and Country Club.Â

th to lead the Tars.

The Tars registered a score of three over, 291, on the final day of the event to end the tournament with a score of 872, eight over par. The Tars fell three spots on the leaderboard on the day, as a number of teams went low over the final 18 holes. The Tars finished four strokes back of seventh place Tampa, but 35 stokes clear of Embry-Riddle in ninth.

Top-ranked Barry shot the tournament's low round, an 18 under par, to secure the title with a three day score of 844, 20 under par. The hosts, Florida Southern rose one spot, with a round of nine under par, to earn runner up honors. Nova Southeastern took third, following an eight under par day. Saint Leo fell two spots, finishing fourth, while Lynn rounds out the top five.

Danny Taggart finished in a tie for 14
th, after carding a one under par final round, to finish the 54 holes at one under par. The senior shot a bogey free back nine, while registering a trio of birdies over the 18 holes.Â
Nicholas Diebel shot the low round of the day for Rollins, at two under par, to card a total score of 216, even par, good for a tie for 18
th. Diebel started his day with three birdies on the first four holes.Â
Warut Wongrungroj tallied a 76 in the final round for a three day total of six over, 222, good for 32
nd position.Â
Connor Jones registered his best round of the event, a 74, to tally a tie for the 38
th spot.Â
Jacob Hair completes the Tars' lineup in a tie for 43
rd.

A trio of golfers tied for the lead after 54 holes. A.J. Ewart, of Barry, tallied the tournament's best round to climb 12 spots on the leaderboard, shooting eight under on the day. Jake Nash of Saint Leo and Nicolas Quintero, also of Barry, shot three under on the day to stay at the top of board after the third round. Quintero eventually won SSC Medalist honors defeating his teammate on the fourth playoff hole. William Hartford, of Palm Beach Atlantic, finished fourth while George Eubank Jr., of Tampa, registered a fifth place result.
