GREENSBORO, N.C. (March 11, 2022) – Harold Lockhart captured his second NCAA Division II National Championship, winning the 500 Yard Freestyle event to lead another successful day for Rollins at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.

Lockhart qualified for the 500 Yard Championship Final with second best preliminary time, a 4:23.84.Â
Chance Ricca also qualified for the night swim, earning a spot in the Consolation final with the 13
th best time of the morning, a 4:26.07.

In the Championship Final Lockhart seventh after the first lap, but slowly moved his by the field. He took the lead with 100 Yards to swim and blew away the rest of the field. The sophomore closed with the two fastest laps of the event to win the race by almost three seconds, setting  a new school record, stopping the clock in 4:20.44.

Ricca swam in the middle of a tightly contested 500 Yard Freestyle Consolation Final. The freshman touched the wall in 4:28.40, sixth in the heat. The swim earned Rollins three points and Ricca Honorable Mention All-American status.

Lockhart and Ricca joined
Christian Huber and
Cameron Dolly in the 800 Yard Freestyle. The quartet tallied a 13
th place finish in the race, touching the wall in 6:36.32. The relay earned eight total points for the Tars and were also tabbed as an Honorable Mention All-American unit.

With one day left in the competition, and one event remaining for Rollins, the Tars rank 16
th in the team leaderboard with 67 points. Queens leads the field with Drury in second and Indianapolis rounding out the podium positions.
