Tars Hold Position to End Lady Moc Classic

The Tars shot their lowest round of the event, but held steady on the leaderboard, to finish eighth at the Lady Moc Classic

CLEARWATER, Fla. (February 22, 2022) – The Tars shot their lowest round of the event, but held steady on the leaderboard, to finish eighth at the Lady Moc Classic at Grasslands Country Club.  Carla Alvarez Perez tied for 14th to lead the Rollins contingent.

The Tars shaved a stroke off their second round score, tallying a 297 over the final 18 holes.  The Tars end the event with a score of 898, 34 over par.  The Tars were one stroke off the pace of seventh place Tampa, and only eight strokes away from a top-five result.  Meanwhile, the Tars were 19 strokes clear of West Florida in ninth.
 
Lynn won the title comfortably, finishing the 54 holes at five over.  Anderson rose one spot on the day to finish second, overtaking third place Nova Southeastern.  Limestone finished alone in fourth, while the hosts, Florida Southern, and Barry tied for fifth.

Carla Alvarez Perez carded a two over, 74, in her final round, to finish as the top Tar on the board with a three day total of five over, 221.  Elizabeth Kondal added a 75 to her opening day scores of 77 and 72, to complete the event in a tie for 27th, at eight over.  Olivia Tamburlini shot the low round of the final day for the Tars, registering a 73, to rise eight spots on the leaderboard into a tie for 34th with a ten over, 226.  Katharina Hesse shot a 77, after two rounds of 76, to finish in a tie for 39th, at 13 over.  Berni Villalba tallied her best round of the tournament, a 75, as she rounds out the Rollins lineup with a 233.  Jennifer Jung, competing as an individual, finished level with her teammate, Tamburlini, at ten over, 226.
 
Francesca Santoni picked up medalist honors with her third straight 71, ending the event at three under.  Four players tied in the runner up spot.  The list is highlighted by Kerington Lamb, who shot the tournament's low round, a 66, to move up 24 spots into second.  She is joined in the silver position by Mackenzie McCormack of Palm Beach Atlantic, Alice Gatti of Lynn, and Ellen Andersson on Nova Southeastern.
