Tars Fourth at Conference Meet

The Tars sit in the middle of the pack after the first full day of swimming at the Sunshine State Conference Championships

FEBRUARY 17, 2022 (CLEARWATER, Fla.) – The Tars sit in the middle of the pack, in fourth, after the first full day of swimming at the Sunshine State Conference Championships.
 
Christian Huber registered an NCAA B-Cut time of 20.46 to qualify fourth in the 50 Yard Freestyle. Cruse Sweeney qualified to join his teammate in the top flight final with an eighth place time.  Harold Lockhart broke a school record in qualifying for the 1000 Yard Final, stopping the clock with the top qualifying time of 9:11.05, and an NCAA B-Cut performance.  He would be joined in the top 16 of the morning swims by Cameron Dolly, Daniel Liew, and Payden Knettles. Connor Xu rounded out the Tars morning swims, qualifying for the B-Final with a time of 1:52.34 in the 200 Yard Individual Medley.
 
Lockhart's school record, 9:11.05, highlighted the day for Rollins, earning him a silver medal in the 1000 Yard Freestyle.  Chance Ricca registered a fourth place result in the race as well, earning a NCAA B-Cut time in 9:17.06.  Dolly Cameron's 12th place finish also tallied points for the Tars.
 
Xu stopped the clock in 1:52.85 in the 200 Yard Individual Medley, finishing 13th in the event.
 
Huber touched the wall in 20.29, giving him a fifth place result finish in the 50 Yard Freestyle, while Sweeney finished in eighth with a 20.79.
 
The Rollins quartet of Lockhart, Tully Njoroge, Sweeney, and Huber registered a fourth place finish, setting a new school record, in the 200 Yard Medley Relay, with a time of 1:29.74.  The Tars second squad were disqualified from the second final for leaving early.
 
Nova Southeastern leads the field with 255 points.  They are followed by Florida Southern, with 219, and Tampa, with 175.  Rollins sits fourth with 134 points.  Lynn, Florida Tech, and Saint Leo round out the field.
