Tars Rise to Ninth at Sharks Invitational

The Tars matched their opening round score of four-over, and climbed two spots on the final day of the NSU Sharks Invitational

DAVIE, Fla. (October 5, 2021) – The Tars matched their opening round score of four-over, and climbed two spots on the final day of the NSU Sharks Invitational, finishing in ninth.  Will Koepke shot a two-over 73 in the final round, and led the Tars with a tie for 22nd on the individual leadberboard.

The Tars shot a four-over par, 288, over the final 18 holes to finish the event with a score of 882, 30-over.  Rollins leapfrogged St. Thomas and Florida Tech during final round action.  The Tars ended the day just one stroke behind Palm Beach Atlantic in eighth.
 
Barry took the overall crown, shooting two-under on the final day to finish 54 holes at 13-under.  Lynn took second, and finished six strokes back of the Bucs.  Keiser shot the lowest team score on Tuesday, and moved up into sole possession of third place.  Florida Southern and West Florida rounded out the top-five.

Koepke tallied rounds of 68, 74, and 73 for a 54 hole total of 215, and a 22nd place result.  Jacob Hair registered the Tars lowest final round score, a 69, to finish one stroke back of his teammate and in a tie for 26th position.  Warut Wongrungroj also went low on the final day, registering a one-under, 70, to cap his tournament with a total score of 222.  Nicholas Diebel registered a score of 17-over, while Conor Kelly rounded out the Rollins lineup with a 236.  Jacob Dunlap, playing as an individual, equaled Diebel's score of 230.
 
Barry's A.J. Ewart took home medalist honors with an 11-under, 202.  He held off a run from Nova Southeastern's Jonny Cachon, who finished second at nine-under.  Noah Kumar of Florida southern climbed eight places with his final round 66 to finish in third.  Lynn's Joseph Hudak registered a fourth place result.  Five players tied for fifth, including Keiser's Jack Maxey, who climbed 20 spots on the leader with a five-under final round, and Barry's Felipe Alvarez, who jumped 15 spots with a four under.
 
UP NEXT:
Rollins will head to Florence, Alabama for the TVA Credit Union Classic.  The event will tee off on October 18, from the Turtle Point Golf Course.
