Tars Face Loaded Field at NSU Sharks Invitational

The Tars sit 11th after 36 holes at Grande Oaks Golf Club

DAVIE, Fla. (October 4, 2021) – Rollins opened the NSU Sharks Invitational with a solid 18 holes, but fell off in the second round, finishing the day with a score of 26 over, 594, to sit eleventh heading into the final round.  Will Koepke leads Rollins at even par, and sits in a tie for 15th position.

The Tars shot a four-over 288 in the first round of the day.  Rollins sat sixth after the first 18 holes.  The Tars followed that with a score of 22-over par, 306, and dropped five spots on the leaderboard.
 
Barry tops the loaded field with a three under 557.  The Bucs shot the best round of the day, a eight-under, 276, to open the event.  The Lynn Fighting Knights are five shots back of their South Florida rivals in second place.  Florida Southern is alone in third position with a score of 570, two over par.  Keiser and West Florida are each one stroke back of the Mocs, tied for fourth.

Koepke started his tournament with a three under, 68, on his first 18 holes.  He followed that with a three over, 74, to finish his first day at even par, 142.  Jacob Hair tallied rounds of 73 and 74 to sit in a tie for 40th, with a score of five over, 147.  Warut Wongrungroj shot a one-over 72 on the first 18 holes, but slid two a tie for 67th with an 80 in the second round.  Nicholas Diebel registered rounds of 75 and 78 for a total of 153.  Conor Kelly rounds out the Tars line up with scores of 77 and 83.  Jacob Dunlap recorded rounds of 74 and 77 as an individual, to sit in 58th after 36 holes.
 
Barry's A.J. Ewart sits atop the leaderboard at eight under.  He is followed by teammate Marcus Dahl and Jonny Cachon, playing as an individual for the hosts, Nova Southeastern, are tied for second, three strokes back.  Tampa's Aadam Syed is alone in fourth with a score of 138.  There is an army of players tied in fifth, two strokes back of Syed, at 140.
