CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (October 16, 2021) – Rollins improved on their first round performance at Finely Golf Club, and moved up one spot on the leaderboard, at the Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational.Â
Carla Alvarez Perez highlighted the Tars' round with a one-under par, 71.

Rollins dropped their score six strokes from their opening round 301, to a seven over, 295. After 36 holes Rollins sits at 20 over, with a stroke total of 596. The Tars jumped North Carolina's second team and are just five strokes back of SMU, and only eight strokes back of 13
th position, as much of the field remains tightly packed.

Wake Forest jumped into the top spot with an 11 under score on the day. Virginia Tech sits four shots back. The Clemson Tigers moved up one spot on the day, and are in third, one shot behind the Hokies. Michigan sits alone in fourth at six under par. Vanderbilt, Duke, and Alabama are all tied in the fifth spot.

Elizabeth Kondal shot an even par round of 72. The freshman tallied six birdies on the day, including four on the back nine, and sits in 45
th place, at two over through 36 holes.Â
Bernardita Villalba improved by one stroke in the second round, from 75 to 74, and sits in a tie for 66
th with a score of 149.Â
Jennifer Jung shot a 78 in her second round, to total 152 over her first two days on the Finley Golf Course.Â
Carla Alvarez Perez shot up the leaderboard, recovering from an opening round 82, to shoot a one under par 71. The freshman registered an eagle on the par five 13
th hole, and only carded a pair of bogeys for the round.Â
Katharina Hesse rounded out the Tars contingent with an 83.

Rachel Kuehn, of Wake Forest, moved up eight spots on the day, with a round of nine under par, to take the first position heading into the final day. Melena Barrientos of Clemson and Erica Shepard of Duke are both eight under after two rounds, and tied for second. Krista Junkkari of North Carolina moved up five spots, and into fourth. A trio of golfers are tied for fifth, Becca DiNunzio, of Virginia Tech, who rose 34 spots, Hailey Borja, of Michigan, who rose 13 spots, and Emily Mahar, of Virginia Tech, all sit at five under par.
