Neither team could put together a run at the onset of the game with a Rosel jumper at the 11:21 mark knotting the game at 14-14. Haugen connected on 15-footer the Skyhawks' next trip down the floor to put the visitors up until a Pressley 3-pointer with 4:01 to go in the half put the Tars on top 23-22. The lead would grow to five on two different occasions in the waning moments of the period with an Erin Kerr free-throw with .01 seconds left cutting the Tars halftime advantage to four, 32-28.

Rollins opened the second half on an 11-1 run, capped off with a Pressley 3-pointer to make the score 43-29. A trey by Mackey and another by Haugen cut the lead to eight, but the Tars responded to push their advantage to 13, 48-35 with 8:22 to go.
