WINTER PARK, Fla. – The Tars are back.
Rollins Volleyball kicked off the 2026 season with a pair of wins on Friday, sweeping Ursuline (25-16, 25-20, 25-22) and Concord (25-22, 25-13, 25-20) on the opening day of the Rollins Invitational.
The Tars featured a balanced attack throughout the day, with more than 10 players recording a kill across the two matches.
Kayla Goodloe burst onto the 2026 scene with 12 kills on a .435 hitting percentage against Ursuline.
Robinson Repass and
Cameron Grange matched that total in the nightcap, tallying 12 kills apiece against Concord. Repass was nearly unstoppable, hitting .857 to lead the Tars.
The tandem of
Molly Morris and
Jenna Garza picked up where they left off last season, with both setters posting double-digit assist performances. Garza led the way with 19 assists in the opener, while Morris dished out 24 against Concord.
Lelolai Paulino-Dinzey tallied a team-high four service aces on the day while adding 19 digs across the two contests. At the net, the middles shared the workload as Repass,
Vivian Scuteri and
Willow Barron each recorded five or more total blocks on the day.
Rollins 3, Ursuline 0
The Tars wasted little time building momentum against Ursuline. Repass delivered the first kill of the season before Goodloe chipped in a pair, helping Rollins jump out to a quick 6-3 lead. A kill from
Kai Hazelett answered an Ursuline point, and after another score from the Arrows, the Tars rattled off eight straight to blow the set open at 15-6. Both sides traded short runs from there before Hazelett slammed the door on a 25-16 opening-set victory.
The momentum stayed with the Blue and Gold in the second. Three service aces along with kills from Repass, Goodloe and Hazelett pushed the Rollins advantage to 10-4. Ursuline eventually found some rhythm and trimmed the deficit to two, but a pair of kills from
Rylee Yarborough gave the Tars some breathing room and helped extend the lead to 23-17. This time, it was Goodloe delivering the final strike as Rollins closed out the set, 25-20, to take a 2-0 lead.
Set three followed a similar script, with Goodloe delivering Rollins' first two kills to set the pace. The teams traded runs before the Arrows made things interesting at 14-13, but Yarborough sparked the Tars once again to push the advantage back out. Ursuline attempted to answer, but consecutive kills from
Kyla Krimmel halted the comeback attempt. Goodloe eventually put the finishing touches on the match with a pair of late strikes, helping Rollins take the set, 25-22, and secure its first sweep of the season.
Rollins 3, Concord 0
Match two opened with a back-and-forth battle, with Repass once again delivering Rollins' first kill. Barron got in on the action next before Grange capped a four-point run that gave the Tars a 6-3 edge. The Mountain Lions responded with a run of their own, eventually taking an 11-7 lead, but the pendulum quickly swung back toward Rollins. Kills from Grange, Repass and Scuteri fueled a 6-1 run that put the Tars back in front.
The sides traded points from there, with Concord eventually sneaking back ahead. Grange helped spark another Rollins push late in the set before Repass finished it off, giving the Tars a 25-22 win in the opener.
The second set was all Rollins. Repass, Grange, Goodloe, Yarborough and even Garza all took turns finding the floor as the Tars raced out to a 13-6 advantage. The Blue and Gold kept their foot on the gas, stretching the lead to 20-12 before Scuteri and Barron helped slam the door with a rejection at the net as Rollins cruised to a 25-13 win.
Grange once again provided the spark to open the third, helping Rollins jump out to a 4-0 lead. Yarborough, Scuteri and Goodloe each added kills, while a handful of Concord miscues helped stretch the advantage to 11-5. Repass continued to add to the attack as the Tars pushed the margin even further.
The Mountain Lions eventually pieced together a small run, but Rollins kept the comeback at bay and traded points with Concord down the stretch. Scuteri delivered the final blow, putting away the match-clinching kill to give the Tars a 25-20 set victory and their second sweep of the day.
The Tars return to Warden Arena on Saturday, August 29, for the second day of the Rollins Invitational. Rollins will face Southern Connecticut State at 2:30 p.m. before closing the tournament against St. Mary's at 7 p.m.
