The ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove Awards are selected by ABCA coaches committees at each level: NCAA Div. I, II & III, NAIA, NJCAA Div. I, II & III, Pacific Association Division, and high school. The ABCA/Rawlings Award Program is one of the most comprehensive in all of sports, honoring All-America and Gold Glove teams in nine divisions of amateur baseball as well as All-Region teams in five divisions.
Among the honorees for the Division II level was Tars infielder Connor O'Sullivan, who was recognized for his fantastic glovework at first base. The junior led the Sunshine State Conference in chances with 399, and committed just one error all season long for a fielding percentage of 0.997. He also added 26 assists, and was a part of an SSC-leading 41 double plays. While the bulk of his time in the field was at first, O'Sullivan showed her versatility by also manning shortstop and second base on occasion for the Tars.Â
The first ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove teams were recognized in 2007, making this the 19th year the ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove Awards have been presented in the collegiate and high school ranks (no awards were presented in 2020 due to COVID-19). O'Sullivan is the first Rollins player to be named to the National Gold Glove Team. The Tars previously had three athletes who were named ABCA All-South Region Gold Glove ... Stefano Foggi (2007), Jesse More (2009), and Ben Hewett (2010).Â
