Men's Tennis Compiles List of End of Year Awards

Five Tars earned All-SSC status on Wednesday afternoon

ORLANDO, Fla. (May 6, 2026) – The Sunshine State Conference released their end of season awards for men's tennis on Wednesday afternoon. A handful of Tars collected accolades, receiving high praise across the league.

Freshman of the Year, sponsored by Athletic Solutions, was awarded to the Tars' Lawson Prather. Wednesday's recognition marks the fourth time in school history, a Tar etched their name in the record books for the prestigious achievement. The Tulsa area product was 14-5 on the season from the top line, surrendering just one conference match all season. Prather's most notable win came back on March 7th when he defeated ITA's number one ranked player, Yan Kodjoed of Barry. The first-year man began his career in Winter Park to the tune of six consecutive wins, setting the tone for a special year. Prather's campaign also included Player of the Week status following his outstanding start and his steady performance was also good for first team all-conference.

Elsewhere, Richard Stoiberer added to his legacy with his third consecutive season on the all-conference ballot. The captain, a mainstay in the lineup throughout his career, was named to the second team of doubles alongside partner Pete Tran. The pair's record of 13-3 from the topflight includes wins over each first team duo. Most recently, the tandem went undefeated at the conference tournament and will look to continue their run in NCAAs next week. For Tran, Wednesday's all conference honor was his first of his career.

Also earning recognition were Mo Anterist and Fabian Gusic, a powerful pairing, but receiving high marks for their singles performances. Both Germans found a spot on the second team for their first all-conference nominations. Gusic provided juice all season long, primarily from court two. His seven wins from the second line helped pace the Tars to 20 team wins this year. Meanwhile, Anterist was a workhorse from lines four and five. With 17 wins this season, the sophomore led the group in solo victories and was most recently awarded Player of the Week for the first time in his career.

The men will begin their quest for a national title on Monday, May 11th at 2pm ET. Be sure to check back into Rollinssports.com for the latest updates, news and notes from Pensacola where head coach Jay Friedman's squad takes aim at advancing to the final 16.
