LAKELAND, Fla. (April 11, 2026) – Rollins men's lacrosse came up just short in a tightly contested battle on Saturday evening, falling to Florida Southern, 12-11.
Zachary Blinkoff opened the scoring for the Tars, picking up a ground ball before finishing a give-and-go with
Aaron Williams to net the first goal. After several scoreless minutes, Williams added another off a pass from
Logan McHugh to give Rollins a 2-0 lead. The Tars' defense held strong the rest of the quarter, carrying that advantage into the second.
Florida Southern struck first in the second, but Blinkoff responded with his second goal of the night off a feed from
Logan Myers to restore the two-goal cushion. Both teams traded empty possessions over the next several minutes before the Mocs broke through late in the quarter, sending Rollins into halftime with a 3-2 lead.
Williams wasted no time in the second half, scoring on the opening possession to extend the lead. Florida Southern answered with two quick goals to even the score at 4-4, but Rollins responded with a strong run. McHugh delivered an unassisted tally, followed by another solo effort from
Chad Bulera. Williams then completed his hat trick on a pass from
Sean Caracciolo to push the Tars back in front. The Mocs slowed the momentum with a goal and a series of defensive stops before adding another to close the gap.
Sean Laureano found Brody Nelson for a key score, but Florida Southern answered with two late goals to send the game into the fourth quarter tied.
Florida Southern carried that momentum into the final frame, scoring twice to take the lead. Myers answered off a pass from
Avery Kamuf to cut the deficit to one, but the Mocs added two more to stretch the advantage to three with just over five minutes remaining. Rollins continued to fight back, as
Nate Paulo set up Blinkoff for a goal, and Jack McCallum forced a turnover on the next possession to spark a transition opportunity finished by
Owen Lammy. The Tars created several chances in the closing minutes but were unable to convert, as Florida Southern held on for the 12-11 win.
Williams led the Rollins offense with four points on three goals and an assist, while Blinkoff added a multi-goal performance with an assist. Six additional Tars found the back of the net.
Brady Greco led the team with five ground balls and added 11 faceoff wins, while eight different players recorded a caused turnover. In goal,
Nick Catino and
