Fox Day Win Sends Tars to SSC Tournament

WINTER PARK, Fla. (April 15, 2026) – Rollins men's lacrosse took control of its postseason fate on Fox Day, securing a spot in the SSC Tournament with a 14-10 win over Palm Beach Atlantic on Wednesday night.

Palm Beach Atlantic opened the scoring early, but Conor Sweeney answered on the next possession with an unassisted goal to even things up. The Sailfish quickly responded to regain the lead before Carder Ungerott found the equalizer for Rollins. PBA then used a 3-0 run, fueled by strong defensive stops, to build a 5-2 advantage. Zachary Blinkoff halted the momentum with an unassisted tally late in the quarter, cutting the deficit to two heading into the second.

Rollins began to settle in during the second. After a pair of empty possessions, Logan Myers found the back of the net to bring the Tars within one, and Sweeney connected with Aaron Williams just over a minute later to tie the game at 5-5. Following a stretch of defensive stops on both ends, Myers set up Chad Bulera for the go-ahead goal, giving Rollins its first lead of the night. The Tars continued to capitalize late in the half, as Blinkoff buried a pass from Ungerott out of a timeout. Brady Greco followed with another faceoff win, leading to one more Rollins possession, where Sean Caracciolo found Logan McHugh in the closing seconds to extend the lead to 8-5 at halftime.

PBA struck first out of the break, but Rollins quickly answered. Caracciolo converted a feed from Sweeney to restore the three-goal cushion, and moments later, a defensive stop sparked a transition opportunity finished by Dominic Cesarone off a pass from Sweeney. Myers added an unassisted goal before linking up with Nate Paulo to push the lead to six, as the Tars took firm control heading into the fourth.

The Sailfish made one final push, opening the fourth with a pair of quick goals and adding two more midway through the frame to cut the deficit to two. Rollins responded with composure, locking down defensively and controlling possession. Aaron Williams delivered a key insurance goal, and after a clutch save from Colin Selters, Charlie Metz capped the scoring with a finish off a pass from Paulo to seal the 14-10 victory.

A balanced offensive effort led the way for Rollins, with 10 different goal scorers on the night. Bulera, Williams, Myers, and Blinkoff each recorded multi-goal performances, while Sweeney helped pace the team with four points, including three assists. Greco dominated at the faceoff X, going 17-for-26 with seven ground balls. Paulo led the defensive effort with two caused turnovers, while seven other Tars recorded one. Metz added five ground balls to go along with the final goal of the night. In goal, Nick Catino and Selters combined for eight saves.

Rollins improves to 7-7 (3-4 SSC) on the season, while Palm Beach Atlantic falls to 6-11 (1-7 SSC). The Tars will face Florida Southern in the SSC Tournament, with the date and time to be announced.
