EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Rollins delivered a record-setting performance on day four of the NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving Championships, as three Tars reset program records in championship finals.
Sophomore
Taiylor Tegler opened the night in the 100 breaststroke consolation final, touching in 1:01.95 to finish 11th overall while setting a new Rollins school record in the event. Tegler improved from her morning prelim swim of 1:02.47, splitting 28.82 on the opening 50 before closing in 33.13.
Senior
William Slowey followed with a strong showing in the 100 breaststroke championship final, placing fourth overall in 52.97 to earn 15 points for the Tars while also setting a new program record. Slowey had advanced to the final with a 52.89 performance in the morning prelims.
The night concluded with another record-breaking swim from senior
Luke Dinges in the 200 backstroke. Dinges captured silver in the championship final, touching in 1:43.14 to secure 17 points and set the Rollins school record in the event after qualifying earlier in the day with a 1:43.99.
Rollins will return to the pool tomorrow for the final day of competition. Tegler will compete in the 200 breaststroke, Slowey in the 100 freestyle, and Dinges in the 200 backstroke as the NCAA Championships continue in Evansville.
