West Palm Beach, Fla. (February 27, 2026) – On a windy Friday afternoon, Rollins secured their third straight conference victory with a 6-1 victory over Palm Beach Atlantic. The road effort improves the Tars to 4-0 on the year.
The doubles point went the way of Rollins to set the tone Friday with a clean blue and gold sweep across the board. First, it was the duo of
Mo Anterist and
Pietro Cappellaro getting things done on court two. The pair last played together in a season opening win over Bates but had no trouble finding their grove.
Richard Stoiberer and
Pete Tran found theirs again as well from line one. After falling on Tuesday at Eckerd in tight match, Stoiberer and Tran would not be denied this time around, winning 6-4. While the point was already decided,
Lawson Prather and
Nico de Giacomo ensured it would be all Tars. The tandem's 6-3 result gave them their fourth straight victory to start the season.
The pattern continued in singles play courtesy of Anterist, who picked off the first point with a 6-1, 6-1 sweep on line five. Playing from court six, Cappellaro mimicked his doubles partner with the exact score himself, putting the Tars in position to clinch the match early on.
Stoiberer wasted no time on court three. The senior cruised in the minimum, once again going 6-1, 6-1 in favor of the Tars. The visitors weren't satisfied, though. Prather was nails on line one with a 6-0, 6-3 win. Finally, de Giacomo provided the sixth and final win of the day for Rollins winning his match from singles number four, 6-0, 6-1.
In a tight battle,
Fabian Gusic dropped a tie breaking third set 10-8 to drop on line two. Still, the fight was admirable from Gusic, as it was for the entire team on this windy February Friday.
A proud head coach
Jay Friedman added, "What a windy day in West Palm. Good to take care of business on the road this week. I think we will appreciate bringing the show back home under the lights next week!"
As Friedman alludes to, the men will be back in action from the friendly confines of the Tennis & Golf Center next week. And the fans will happily welcome the show back to familiar territory.
First, the Tars will welcome in the Wingate University Bulldogs on Monday night. Later in the week, the University of Charleston Golden Eagles will pay a visit to Winter Park. Both matches will take place at 6pm following a women's match at 2pm.
