Greetings #TARnation! Spring crossover season is upon us, and there is a lot happening, so let's get right into it:

- Women's lacrosse was ranked #19 in the IWLCA preseason poll and opened their season with a double-overtime thriller, defeating #24 Florida Tech 15-14 on Saturday. Delanie Abere and Molly Mendes each scored three goals, but it was Gabby Yerardi with the game-winner in the second extra period that secured head coach Thomas Kienle the first win of his career.

- Men's basketball suffered a tough loss on Wednesday at Florida Tech, but bounced back in a huge way on Saturday, destroying the Florida Southern Mocs 99-76. Mayson Quartlebaum led the Tars with 26 points and nine rebounds, with Ricky "Il Mago" Ghedini adding 19 points, 8 boards, and 8 assists. The win not only kept Rollins in the top half of the SSC standings, it snapped a nine-game losing streak against the Mocs dating back to 2021.
----Quartlebaum was named the SSC Offensive Player of the Week after scoring 46 points on 71% shooting in two games. Omar Figueroa captured SSC Defensive Player of the Week, totaling eight steals, a block, and nine rebounds.

- Baseball continued their gauntlet of a schedule, squaring off against #11 West Florida three times. It was a great weekend of competitive baseball that saw Rollins dominate Saturday's game, 6-1. Collin Hughes stayed hot at the plate, collecting two hits in each of the three games, while fellow transfer Brett Dennis tossed a gem, going five innings and allowing one unearned run with five strikeouts in the win.

- Women's tennis opened their spring season with a perfect 7-0 win against SSC foe Tampa on Saturday. The Tars took all three doubles matches by a 6-1 score, and then swept the six singles competitions. Loring Tilipman breezed through court five with a 6-0, 6-0 sweep.

- Men's lacrosse dropped a tough SSC road match at Florida Tech on Saturday, losing 13-9. Nate Paulo was a demon on offense, finding the net five times with eight shots on goal. Brady Greco was named the SSC Specialist of the Week after winning 19 of 22 faceoffs in the game.

- Women's basketball split their games last week. The highlight was a 53-51 win at Florida Tech. Freshman Elaina Kline-Ruminski led the team with 13 points, including the go-ahead bucket with 2:31 left in the game. Stout defense was on display in this one as the Tars held the Panthers to just four points on 1-16 shooting in the final quarter.

- Men's golf took sixth place in the 14-team Matlock Invitational, hosted by Florida Southern. Sean Dobson was sixth on the individual board with a 213 (-3) that included ten birdies. Clarence Chapman III found himself in 15th with a 217 (+1).

- Women's golf also got going, taking part in Flagler's World Golf Hall of Fame Invitational. The Tars tied for sixth in the sixteen-team event that featured twelve clubs ranked in the Top 25. Leah Li was the top performer, earning a 20th place finish at 225 (+9). Lindsay Lee had two eagles in the event, and shot a 69 in the first round to tie for the lead early on.

-Men's and women's swimming will compete in the conference championships over the next five days in Ocala at the Florida Aquatics Swimming & Training Center. A trip to NCAAs in the beautiful state of Indiana next month is on the line. Last season, the Tars sent five swimmers to compete in the NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Championships. Today's action will include finals in the 800 free relay for both the men and women, setting the tone for what will be a fun weekend! Just keep swimming, Tars!

-Women's basketball hits the road twice this week to take on a pair of SSC foes. First, they will travel to Daytona Beach, where the Embry-Riddle Eagles (15-5) await in the wings. Following a narrow loss last time out, the Tars hope to build on their two-game road winning streak tonight. They will have another chance to do so on Saturday down at Tampa (14-9). A halftime lead in the first contest between these two proves that the ladies will give the Spartans all they can handle. This time, though, the Tars are out to play spoiler on the road. The women will tip off at 5:30pm tonight while Saturday brings afternoon hoops – tip off at 2pm.

- Men's basketball will follow the ladies both times looking to capture some late season momentum in their own right. Embry-Riddle (10-11) and Rollins sit neck and neck in the middle of the jam-packed SSC standings. Looking to follow suit on a big home W against the Eagles just three weeks ago, the Tars hope to break out the brooms tonight for a season sweep. On Saturday, the same opportunity presents itself at Tampa (11-10). The Tars snagged a six-point win over the Spartans back in December and are hoping for the same result come Saturday afternoon. Tonight's contest follows the women at approximately 7:30pm. Saturday's game begins around 4pm.

-Women's tennis return to the courts Thursday when they welcome rival and #11 Florida Southern at the Tennis & Golf Center. It will be the 31st all time meeting between these two in what has been a tightly contested conference series over the years. Come out and bring the energy for tomorrow's home match which will begin at 3pm! Sunday, the Tars stay in state for a regional showdown against #4 Flagler (1-0). The Saints ranked in the top ten of the preseason poll, a formidable opponent for Coach Tasi's bunch, but they will be prepared!

-Baseball is back at Alfond Stadium once again this weekend, and this time you get even more chances to catch the Tars. A four-game set with visiting Assumption University begins on Friday at 2pm. Saturday, we've got doubleheader action for you. How does a noon and 3pm start sound? Finally, Sunday's finale with the Greyhounds begins at noon. A little Sunday baseball is the cure for our lack of football over the next few months!

-And if you like diamond sports, be sure to check out softball, too! They are back in action at home this weekend for a double dose of doubleheader play. First, the Auburn Montgomery Warhawks (6-0) enter the fray. Riding high off their #1 ranking in the latest poll, this crew hasn't seen what the Tars can do. The action begins at noon with game two starting at approximately 2:30pm. Then, on Sunday, more softball! A date with Angelo State has a nice ring to it - 11:30am for game one and approximately 2pm for game number two when the Rambelles (9-1) come to town, ranking #2 in the country. Who wouldn't want to see some high-powered softball?! Come out to MLK Park!

-Women's lacrosse looks to follow their electric performance last weekend when Colorado Mesa (0-1) pays a visit to the 'Spur. Friday night lights? What could be better? They make movies about that stuff! Come cheer on the ladies to a 2-0 start and bring a friend – this crew deserves it. First draw from midfield takes place at 7pm. And make sure you are on time! The Tars scored in under a minute in the season opener, and there are sure to be more fireworks this time around!

-Men's lacrosse welcomes Lenoir-Ryne (0-1) on Saturday afternoon for a 1pm start.  The last time the men took the field at the 'Spur, the result was lopsided from the jump with a dominant win over Florida Southern. Now, regional foe #8 Lenoir-Ryne awaits the wrath of the Tars attack. Saturday's forecast calls for beautiful weather – and beautiful lacrosse.

-Sailing will be busy this weekend, too! Saturday and Sunday mark the Women's Top 6 Invite hosted by the College of Charleston. The boats will set off from the Patriots Point Marina following a 9:15am Skippers Meeting.! If you enjoy watching sailing, but don't want to road trip it, stay home for the SAISA Open, hosted by Rollins! There are 18 teams across divisions A & B participating in this two-day event on Saturday and Sunday on Lake Virginia. Get outside and enjoy the regatta on the stunning lake we are fortunate to call our home!

-Men's golf is back in action on Monday and Tuesday for the Saint Leo Invitational hosted by the Lions at Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club. A shotgun start kicks off the two-day action at 8:30am Monday morning. A crowded field of 18 of the nation's best will take the tee box for the competition in which the Tars took 4th last season.

-Finally, men's tennis takes the court for the first time on Monday, welcoming Bates College to sunny Winter Park. The wait is over! After the cold front wiped out the men's home opener, Coach Jay and the boys have been working hard in preparation for the Bobcats. The start of an exciting season begins at 3pm. Stop by the gorgeous facility and cheer on the Tars!

-On a somber note, former men's lacrosse player Trey LaPorta '17 recently suffered a stroke and brain tumor diagnosis. Anyone with the means to do so is invited to check out Trey's GoFundMe to help with medical bills and  support for his wife and two young children. Our hearts are with Trey's family and friends during this tough time.
