Perantoni Named First Team All-South Region

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association has revealed the 2025 NFCA Division II All-Region teams. The 2025 squads are comprised of 208 student-athletes from 115 programs. The awards honor softball student-athletes from the Association's eight regions with first and second-team selections. NFCA member head coaches from each respective region nominated their student-athletes and voted for the teams. All the honorees are now eligible for selection to the 2025 NFCA Division II All-America squads.

Among the honorees was Rollins freshman Brianna Perantoni, who secured one of the outfield slots on the first team. The Miami native was the top hitter for the Tars' offense this season. In 44 games, including 41 starts, she hit .421 with 64 hits in 152 at bats. That is the 9th-highest average in a season in program history. She scored 23 runs, drove in 17, and also went 14-17 in steals. Perantoni was on base at a .418 clip, and also posted a .487 slugging percentage as a leadoff hitter. 

A coupe of fun notes about Perantoni's first collegiate season: she did not draw a single walk all year, and she only committed one error in the field. She continues the trend of a Tar landing on the All-South Region team; at least one Rollins athlete has been named to the squad every year since 2019.
 
The 2025 NFCA Division II All-America teams will be announced on Wednesday, May 21 at the NCAA Division II Championship Banquet in Chattanooga, Tenn.
