ORLANDO, Fla. (August 12, 2025) - Sunshine State Conference women's soccer coaches select Florida Tech as the preseason favorite to win the 2025 regular-season championship. With 97 points and seven first-place votes in the poll, the Panthers are favored to win the program's fourth regular-season championship, and third in a row. Sitting behind them in third place is Rollins College, with 82 vote points.
Nova Southeastern is projected to finish second, as the Sharks picked up 88 points and three first-place votes. Embry-Riddle is fourth with 75 points and the final first-place vote. Saint Leo rounds out the top five with 58 points. Eckerd lands in the center of the poll with 53 points and is trailed by Barry (41 points) and Lynn (40 points). Tampa (26 points), Palm Beach Atlantic (24 points), and Florida Southern (21 points) hold the final three positions in the poll.
Last season, Rollins finished with an overall record of 8-5-3, including a 5-3-1 record in the SSC. They entered the SSC tournament as the #2 seed, and defeated #7 Lynn in the first round before falling to #3 Nova Southeastern. Their wins last year included 4-1 against #6 Tampa and 1-0 over SSC champion Florida Tech.
The Tars lost three of their top four goal scorers from last season to graduation, but have reloaded their roster with a plethora of talented freshmen and transfers. Captains

Amanda Caines anchors a defense that allowed only 1.13 goals per game in 2024.
Rollins will open their season at home on Thursday, September 4 when they host the Clayton State Lakers at Cahall-Sandspur Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 pm from Winter Park.
