DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (April 16, 2025) – The Rollins men's lacrosse team extended its win streak to five games with a 12-11 win in double overtime at No. 18 Embry-Riddle on Wednesday afternoon. The Tars close out the regular season with an 8-7 record, 5-2 in SSC play, while the Eagles finish at 8-6, 4-3 in conference games. Rollins will be the third seed in the 2025 SSC Men's Lacrosse Championship Presented by Pollo Campero, hosting sixth-seeded Florida Tech on Saturday, April 19th at 1 p.m.
Aaron Williams led all players with three goals while
Seth Isenhour tallied a pair of markers.
Sam Mattson recorded a goal and an assist, and
Thomas Garvin was 14-of-23 in faceoffs with a pair of ground balls and a goal.
Maxwell Beuck (8-7) made seven saves on 18 shots to earn the win in goal.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
First Quarter
- Max Armitage opened the scoring, but ERAU answered back just 37 seconds later to tie it at one.
- Isenhour, Williams, and Ian Dean tallied the next three goals to put Rollins in front, 4-1, after one quarter.
Second Quarter
- The Eagles scored the first four goals of the second period to take a 5-4 lead before Chad Bulera found the back of the net to tie it at five.
- After another Embry-Riddle goal, Mattson scored with just over a minute left to knot things up at six at the half.
Third Quarter
- ERAU struck first in the third quarter, but the Tars rattled off three straight markers after that, with Williams, Isenhour, and Garvin all scoring to put Rollins back in front, 9-7.
- A late Eagle goal made it 9-8 as the game headed to the fourth quarter.
Fourth Quarter
- Embry-Riddle tied the game 2:35 into the fourth before Jack Johnstone and Williams scored to push the Tars back in front, 11-9.
- The Eagles scored with 3:01 left and tied the game with just 24 seconds remaining, sending the game to overtime.
Overtime
- Embry-Riddle attempted five shots but couldn't get any on frame in the first overtime period, while the Tars put two shots on goal but couldn't beat the Eagle goalie, extending the game to a second overtime period.
Double Overtime
- The Tars took all three shots in the second overtime, including a Bulera shot the hit the crossbar on the opening possession.
- Following an Eagle turnover, Logan Myers was able to find the game-winner with 1:34 on the clock, securing the 12-11 win for the Tars.
