No. 17 Tars Handle Lee, 21-7

Rollins continues its homestead on Sunday when it hosts Alabama - Huntsville at 12 p.m.

WINTER PARK, Fla. (March 10, 2025) – The 17-ranked Rollins women's lacrosse team put on an impressive performance Monday evening, defeating Lee by a score of 21-7. The Tars are now 5-2 on the year, while the Flames drop to 1-6.
 
Katie Bell led the way with six goals while Delaney Hudson tallied two goals and three assists. Delanie Abere, Madison McGarry, and Fiona Rizzo all contributed two goals and one assist. Angelina Vitale (4-2) got the win in goal, making one save on five shots in 30 minutes of work.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
First Quarter
  • Lee scored the first two goals of the game before Aleksa Allen got the Tars on the board at the 6:31 mark of the opening quarter.
  • After another Lee goal, McGarry scored her first goal of the game to make it 3-2.
  • The Flames scored with 25 seconds left, but Bell was able to fire home a free position shot as time expired, making it a 4-3 game after the first period.
Second Quarter
  • Rollins dominated the second quarter, outscoring Lee 9-0 in the frame.
  • Aberie scored two goals in the period, Bell tallied three markers, and McGarry, Allen, Hudson, and Tess Hovivian all scored a goal apiece, giving Rollins a 12-4 advantage at the half.
Third Quarter
  • The Tars continued to push in the third quarter, outscoring the Flames 5-0.
  • Bell netted two of the goals, with Hudson, Sydney Nickel, and Kali Gagnon also finding the back of the net in the quarter, extendning the lead to 17-4.
Fourth Quarter
  • Rizzo and Carsyn Christel each scored a pair of goals in the first 6:30 of the fourth quarter, completing a 19-0 run that pushed the lead to 21-4.
  • Lee scored the final three goals of the game to account for the 21-7 final score.

The Tars will continue this eight-game homestand on Sunday, March 16, when they host Alabama – Huntsville at 12 p.m.
