IRVINE, Calif. (March 10, 2025) – The 20th-ranked Rollins men's lacrosse team dropped a 16-8 decision to No. 2 Adelphi on Monday in a neutral-site contest held at Concordia University – Irvine. The Tars are now 3-4 on the year, while the Panthers improve to 6-0.
Max Armitage,
Logan Myers, and
Logan McHugh each tallied a goal and an assist, while
Christian McConnell had a team-high four ground balls.
Maxwell Beuck (3-4) made six saves in goal for the Blue and Gold.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
First Quarter
- McHugh scored the opening goal to give the Tars the lead, but Adelphi responded with back-to-back goals to go up 2-1.
- After Aaron Williams tied it, the Panthers scored another pair of goals late in the quarter to gain a 4-2 edge.
Second Quarter
- Adelphi pushed its lead to 6-2 before Armitage found the back of the net with the final goal of the first half, cutting the deficit to 6-3.
Third Quarter
- Sam Mattson scored the first goal in the third, making it a 6-4 contest, but the Panthers netted the next two goals to go up 8-4.
- Myers made it 8-5, and Jack Johnston scored after a Panther goal to make it a 9-6 contest.
- Adelphi added three more goals in the third to build a 12-6 lead heading to the fourth quarter.
Fourth Quarter
- Hunter Jones and Nate Paulo both tallied markers in the fourth, but the Panthers put home four goals in the period to come away with a 16-8 win.
