WINTER PARK, Fla. (March 1, 2025) – The seventh-ranked Rollins men's lacrosse team came up short at home on Saturday, falling to 17th-ranked Flagler, 13-6. The Tars drop to 3-2 on the season, while the Saints go to 5-1.
Sam Mattson led the Tars with a pair of goals and two ground balls, while
Aaron Williams chipped in with a goal and an assist.
Lake Baker went 13-for-22 in faceoffs with a game-high seven ground balls, and
Maxwell Beuck (3-2) took the loss in goal.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
First Quarter
- Williams opened the scoring less than three minutes into the game, but the Saints answered with five straight goals in a span of less than two minutes, taking a 5-1 lead.
- Nate Paulo netted a man-down goal to cut it to 5-2, but Flagler scored two more before the end of the quarter to build a 7-2 advantage after 15 minutes of play.
Second Quarter
- The visitors scored the only two goals of the second quarter, pushing their lead to 9-2 at the half.
Third Quarter
- After Flagler made it 10-2 early in the third, Mattson and Logan Myers scored 44 seconds apart to trim the deficit to 10-4.
- Each team would add a goal in the final 64 seconds of the period, giving the Saints an 11-5 lead heading to the fourth quarter.
Fourth Quarter
- Mattson scored Rollins' only goal of the fourth as Flagler tacked on two more to leave with a 13-6 win.

Rollins will head to the Golden State for its next two games, beginning with a road contest at Concordia University Irvine on Saturday, March 8th at 4 PM EST. The Tars will then face top-ranked Adelphia on Monday, March 10th at 5 PM EDT, with that game also being played at CUI.
