Wilson, Offense Help Tars Soar Past Eagles

Rollins defeated Embry-Riddle 15-4 on Saturday

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (March 1, 2025) - For the second straight game, the Rollins offense was on fire at the plate, leading to a 15-4 blowout win over the Embry-Riddle Eagles on Saturday. The Tars improve to 11-4 on the season and 4-1 in SSC play. The Eagles fall to 8-4, 3-2 SSC.

After a pair of scoreless inning to start the game, Rollins blew the game open in the third. Thirteen Tars made their way to the plate, scoring nine runs on seven hits. Mason Wilson drive in three with his sixth home run of the year, and Joey Rubin got in on the action with a bases clearing three-run double.

The Eagles found the scoreboard in the fourth, scoring two runs on opener Ryan Murphy. With the bases loaded, Jackson Edelman was called on out of the pen, and retired the next two hitters to escape further damage.

In the fifth, it was Wilson striking again with his second big fly of the game, driving in himself as well as Rubin and Jeslyn Whitehead to make the score 13-2. The junior catcher then added his seventh RBI of the game with a single to center in the sixth that plated Rubin. A wild pitch from the Eagles brought in Whitehead to wrap up the scoring for the Tars.

For the second game in a row, Rollins saw eight of their nine starters collect at least one hit. As a bonus, all nine starters came around to score. Wilson had a monster game with three hits and seven RBI. Whitehead went 3-5 at the plate and score three times. Corey Zientek reached base five times, including four hits.

The series will wrap up on Sunday when the two teams meet for a noon first pitch.
