CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. (February 12, 2025) - Men's tennis warmed up for their big weekend with a match at Wabash College on Wednesday. The Tars were able to dispatch the Little Giants with a 7-0 sweep to move to 2-0 on the year.
It started with a quick walk through doubles. On court two,
Mo Anterist/
Pete Tran made their way past Rin/Guarniari, 6-1. The point was clinched on one when
Luke Quaynor/
Richard Stoiberer outlasted Ghidini/Shifferly 6-2. For good measure,
Nico de Giacomo/
Fabian Gusic swept Ashokar/Koeneman 6-0.
Rollins clinched the match with wins on court two (Gusic 6-1, 6-0), court three (de Giacomo 6-1, 6-2) and a fun one on one (Quaynor 6-2, 5-7, 10-8.
On the final three courts, Tran, Anterist, and Stoiberer all took home two-set victories for the clean sweep.
"Good to get a match indoors before starting the tournament on Friday," said head coach
Jay Friedman. "I really appreciate Coach and the Wabash Athletic team and department for hosting us, and rolling out the red carpet with help finding study rooms and everything. Truly a class place. Now our sights are set on Friday morning and all that we have been waiting for."
The Tars will look forward to the weekend when they will play in the ITA Indoor National Championship starting on Friday when they play #5 Columbus State at 8am. They will also play on Saturday and Sunday with opponent and time to be determined.
