Tars Score Conference Road Win at Lynn

Rollins defeated Lynn 6-0 on Friday afternoon

BOCA RATON, Fla. (March 15, 2024) - Softball scored a SSC road win at Lynn on Friday afternoon, defeating the Fighting Knights 6-0. The Tars move to 21-6 on the year, and 6-4 in SSC play.

Rollins scored quickly in the top of the first when Sarah Young singled home Grace Germer. They would add two more runs in the second courtesy of a Taylor Waters single and a groundout RBI from Taylor Hartman

After starter Ashley Worrell struck out the side in the bottom half, another run was scored by the Tars in the third when Kaehli Zahradnik singled, stole second, stole third, and scored on a throwing error to make it 4-0.

In the top of the fifth, freshman Maddie Degnan launched the first home run of her career, a solo shot, to put Rollins up 5-0. The scoring would wrap in the seventh on a Germer double that plated Claire Long

Worrell added two more strikeouts in the seventh to wrap up the complete game shutout. Her final line read seven innings, three hits, no runs and eight strikeouts.
