MELBOURNE, Florida (February 29, 2024) – The Sunshine State Conference announced its All-SSC Swimming Teams on Thursday afternoon, with three members of the Rollins men's swimming team included among the selections.
Luke Dinges and
William Slowey were both selected to the second team, while
Seth Basinger received recognition on the third team.
Dinges, a sophomore from Denver, Colorado, scored 45 points at the SSC Championships, highlighted by a win in the 200-yard butterfly in a school-record and NCAA-qualifying time of 1:44.92. Dinges also finished fifth in the 100-yard butterfly (48.00) and eighth in the 100-yard backstroke (54.08) at the conference meet.
Slowey, a sophomore from Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, totaled a team-high 51 points at the SSC Championships, including winning the 200-yard individual medley with a school-record and NCAA-qualifying time of 1:47.19. Slowey also took home a third-place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke (1:59.77) and a fourth-place result in the 100-yard breaststroke (54.28).
Basinger, a freshman from Longwood, Florida, recorded 42 points at the SSC meet, placing third in the 1000-yard freestyle in an NCAA-qualifying time of 9:15.33. He also finished fifth in the 500-yard freestyle (4:28.52) after posting the fastest time in prelims (4:26.09), which was also good for an NCAA B standard, and placed seventh in the 200-yard freestyle in 1:38.63.

Dinges, Slowey, and Basinger, along with Abigayle Wood from the women's team, will be heading to the NCAA Championships in Geneva, Ohio next month. The first swim for the Tars will be on Wednesday, March 13.
