BOCA RATON, Fla. (February 25, 2024) – The seventh-ranked Rollins women's lacrosse team blew past No. 20 Lynn on Sunday with a 17-7 road win. The Tars are now 6-0 on the season, 2-0 in SSC games, while the Fighting Knights drop to 1-1, 0-1 in conference play.

Caroline Gastonguay led all players with five goals and eight points, while Lauren Noonan chipped in with four goals and an assist. Jorie Alf added three goals and three assists while Holyn Trautwein led all players with 10 draw controls. Anya Studebaker (5-0) was stellar in goal, making a career-high 13 saves on 20 shots faced to earn the win.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
First Quarter
  • After Lynn got on the board just 21 seconds into the game, Aleksa Allen answered only 16 seconds later to tie things at a goal apiece.
  • Caroline Gastonguay scored less than two minutes later, with Charlotte Gastonguay following up about five mintues after that to give the Tars a 3-1 lead at the 7:19 mark.
  • Noonan, Abigail DeGroat, and Katie Bell scored the next three goals before Lynn tallied in the closing seconds of the period, making it a 6-2 game.
Second Quarter
  • Each team found the back of the net twice in the second quarter, with Alf and Noonan supplying the Rollins goals, keep the Tar lead at four (8-4) going into the halftime break.
Third Quarter
  • Lynn scored less than two minutes into the third, but the Tars responded by scoring the next five goals and keeping the Fighting Knights off the board for the rest of the quarter.
  • Caroline Gastonguay netted three of the five goals, with Alf scoring the other two as the Blue and Gold increased its lead to 13-5.
Fourth Quarter
  • Studebaker limited the Fighting Knights to just two goals in the fourth, preventing any threat of a comeback as the Tars tallied four more to pull away for the 17-7 victory.
