Winter Park, Fla. (Oct. 28, 2024) - Rollins Overwatch 2 took home a 3-0 (2-0, 3-1, 1-0) home game win Friday night against our rivals Florida Tech, bringing our season record to 4-0 (9-0 overall for Overwatch and VALORANT combined).
Jarod Fuentes (JLux03) had a fantastic game, taking all three Play of the Games across the three played maps. Both teams had a great time playing in person and gained some much-needed experience playing in a LAN environment.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Map 1 (Lijiang Tower - Control)
- Rollins took a quick 2-0 win on Lijiang Tower, which has become a staple of the Rollins map rotation. Jarod Fuentes (JLux03) used his Bastion Ultimate as well as his Configuration: Assault to secure a team kill at the end of the map to earn this Play of the Game.
Map 2 (Rialto - Escort)
- After some good back and forth between the teams in the first round of the map, Rollins was able to find a team kill to capture the last point with the cart and gain a 3-point advantage. Florida Tech pushed the cart to the first point, but Rollins was then able to keep Florida Tech from capturing any more points with the cart, ending the map at 3-1. Jarod Fuentes (JLux03) found his second Play of the Game using his Configuration: Assault to find four kills.
Map 3 (Colosseo - Push)
- This was a much closer Push map than we're used to seeing from Rollins, with Florida Tech getting some great distance throughout the map. Rollins was eventually able to find the win, and Jarod Fuentes (JLux03) earned his third Play of the Game of this match, this time as Tracer. Utilising his abilities as well as his Pulse Bomb, he was able to get three kills.
