TAMPA, Fla. (October 2, 2024) – The Rollins men's soccer team fell at 17th-ranked Tampa on Wednesday, 4-0. The loss moves the Tars to 3-4 overall, 1-2 in conference games, while the Spartans improve to 5-1-1 on the year, 2-0 in SSC play.
Mikkel Fodstad led the Tars with a pair of shots on goal, while
Jorge Lameiras and
Finlay Prain also each put a shot on target.
Jabari Gray (3-4) took the loss in goal, allowing three goals and making six saves.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
First Half
- Tampa got on the board first with a goal in the ninth minute, and the Spartans doubled their lead with another goal less than five minutes later.
- UT made it 3-0 just before the half-hour mark, which would prove to be the halftime deficit for the Tars.
Second Half
- Rollins pushed to get a goal in the second half, taking six shots, three of which were on frame, but the Blue and Gold couldn't get one past the Tampa keeper.
- The Spartans netted a fourth goal in the final minute to account for the 4-0 final.

The Tars will have a week off before returning to the field on Wednesday, October 9, to host Florida Southern in an SSC contest set to begin at 6 p.m.
