Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Tars Blank Knights at Home

Rollins defeated Lynn 3-0 on Saturday night

WINTER PARK, Fla. (October 19, 2024) - Women's soccer returned to their winning ways on Saturday, tossing a 3-0 shutout against the Lynn Fightning Knights. The win moves Rollins to 7-2-1 on the year and 4-1 in SSC. Lynn falls to 3-4-3 (1-2-3 SSC).

The first ten minutes were uneventful, but Rollins finally got on the board with strong defense and midfield, and the strong footwork of Kayla Park. After she beat her defender to the baseline near the Lynn goal, her pass found Lexie Cooper for the first goal of the game.

The game would remain 1-0 into the second half when the Tars struck again. Briyah Drayton took a shot from outside the box, and it deflected off a Knight defender. The ball ended up next to Cooper who was able to pound the ball past the keeper for her second of the game, and fifth of the season.

The Rollins defense did not give Lynn any sort of room to create a shot for the remainder of the game. They would then add one more goal on offense when Harmoni Thomas was able to bring home a rebound off a corner kick, cashing in the first goal of the season.

The Tars dominated in shots 14-6, shots on goal 8-3, and corner kicks 8-3.

Next up for Rollins is their final home game of the season. On Saturday, October 26 they will host the Embry-Riddle Eagles at 7:00 pm. Before the game, the senior class will be honored in front of friends and family.
