WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (Oct. 18, 2024) – The Rollins volleyball team earned its second straight win on Friday with a 3-1 victory at Palm Beach Atlantic, 25-23, 20-25, 25-22, 25-23. The win pushes the Tars to 11-7 overall and 2-5 in SSC play, while the Sailfish fall to 6-9 overall, 0-5 in conference matches.

Lana Gerard led all players with 17 kills and added 11 digs for a double-double, while Molly Norris (12 kills) and Jadyn Troutman (10 kills) also reached double-figures in kills. Natalie Horsley totaled a team-leading 42 assists and Adriana Lopez collected a team-best 14 digs.

Set One
  • Rollins used a 3-0 lead late to go up 20-15, but the Sailfish won five of the next six points to get within one at 21-20.
  • Back-to-back kills for the Tars pushed the lead to 23-20, but once again PBA answered with two straight points to get back within one (23-22).
  • After trading sideouts, the Blue and Gold claimed the set on a Makayla Moran kill to win it, 25-23.
Set Two
  • Set two saw the Sailfish get off to a strong start, taking an early 6-1 lead.
  • The Tars were able to get within three points on a few occasions late, but Palm Beach Atlantic held on for the 25-20 win to tie the match at a set apiece.
Set Three
  • Like the first two sets, the third frame was highly competitive, with neither team able to extend a lead further than a few points.
  • Rollins held a 21-17 edge before the Sailfish won four straight points to tie things up at 21.
  • The Tars bounced back to take four of the final five points, including two kills from Emma Gongora, to win it by a 25-22 score.
Set Four
  • The fourth set saw the lead change hands four times, with the Tars pulling back in front for the final time on the strength of a 6-1 burst to pull ahead, 22-18.
  • PBA scored four of the next five points to trim the deficit to a point (23-22), but three points later a Gongora kill slammed the door, giving Rollins a 25-23 win to clinch a 3-1 victory in the match.
