MELBOURNE, Fla. (September 4, 2023) - The Sunshine State Conference announced their weekly award winners for the week of August 28 on Monday afternoon, and Rollins'
Natalie Horsley was named the first Setter of the Week of the season, which also marks her first-ever SSC weekly honor. She also becomes the first Tar to claim the Setter of the Week award in program history, and Horsley is the first Rollins player to earn any SSC weekly honor since Alexis Yeager in November of 2019.
The Bluffdale, Utah native led the Tars to a perfect 4-0 mark at the PSAC East Kickoff Tournament, tallying 149 assists, 15 digs, eight service aces, seven blocks, and four kills across the four wins. As captain of the offense, Horsley helped the Tars' offense click all weekend long, leading to a team .291 attack percentage.
The junior eclipsed 40 assists twice, including 44 assists, six digs, four blocks, and three service aces in the season-opening 3-2 win over Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
Horsley and the Tars will be at home this weekend to host the annual Rollins Invitational, with the Blue and Gold's home opener set for 3:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 8 against Chadron State.
