ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (April 9, 2023) – The Rollins sailing team earned a ninth-place finish at the SAISA Open Fleet Race Championships, also known as the Tillman Trophy, hosted by Eckerd over the weekend.

Rollins' B boat grabbed a fourth-place finish in the fourth race of the weekend and followed that up with a fifth-place result in the sixth race, accounting for both top-five finishes of the event. The Tars' A boat finished seventh in the opening race and sixth in the closing race for its top results.
Overall, the Tars accrued 151 points, 79 from the A boat and 72 from the B boat, finishing just four points behind South Carolina and three points ahead of The Citadel. North Carolina State won the event with 52 points, besting Miami (68 points) and Florida State (87 points).

The Tars will conclude the 2022-23 season at the SAISA Women's Championship next weekend in Charleston, South Carolina. The regatta is set to kick off on Friday, April 14, and conclude on Sunday, April 16.
