MELBOURNE, Fla. (April 17, 2023) - The Sunshine State Conference announced their weekly award winners for the week of April 10 on Monday afternoon, with two Rollins men's lacrosse players receiving awards -
Grant Hansen (offensive player of the week) and Shahé Katchadurian (defensive player of the week). For Hansen, this is his first weekly award, while Katchadurian has now earned five SSC weekly honors.
Hansen totaled 10 goals and an assist over the two games, beginning the week with two goals and an assist in a 14-6 win over No. 16 Florida Southern on Wednesday. On Saturday, the sophomore broke the program's single-game goals record with eight markers in a 24-14 defeat of Saint Leo. In that contest, he also picked up a ground ball and a caused turnover.
Katchadurian made 26 saves on 45 shots faced this week, helping the Tars secure two more SSC wins. The graduate student stopped 12 of the 18 shots he saw in a 14-6 win over No. 16 Florida Southern on Wednesday. He capped the week with 14 saves on 27 shots faced in a 24-14 rout of Saint Leo on Saturday.
The Rollins men's lacrosse team will return to action on Wednesday, April 19 as they travel to Palm Beach Atlantic for a 5 p.m. contest.
