WINTER PARK, Fla. (April 1, 2023) – The Rollins women's lacrosse team put on a dominant display on Saturday afternoon, routing visiting Palm Beach Atlantic, 21-4, to celebrate Senior Day in style. With the victory, the Tars move to 11-0 on the year and 1-0 in conference play, while the Sailfish drop to 3-6, 0-1 in SSC games.
Caroline Gastonguay racked up six points on three goals and three assists while
Holyn Trautwein and
Lauren Noonan each chipped in with three goals.
Delanie Abere added two goals, and assist, two ground balls, and a caused turnover, while
Abigail Cawley tallied a goal and two assists.
Claire Barber (3-0) got the win, making one save on two shots faced in just over 20 minutes of action.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
First Quarter
- Abigail Cawley got the scoring started early, putting one home just 42 seconds into the game.
- After PBA answered with a quick goal, Caroline Gastonguay netted her first of the game to make it 2-1 with 11:42 left in the first.
- Just over a minute later, Jorie Alf got on the scoresheet, with Noonan and Charlotte Gastonguay following her to push the lead to 5-1.
- Alf got another goal at the 8:11 mark, and Caroline Gastonguay scored the next two to give the Tars an 8-1 lead with 5:46 to play in the quarter.
- Aberie registered the final two markers of the quarter as Rollins built a 10-1 lead in the first 15 minutes of play.
Second Quarter
- Noonan got the next two goals, building the advantage to 12-1 with just under 10 minutes to go before halftime.
- Lily Thornewill and Bailey Caradona added two more goals before the break to increase the lead to 14-1.
Third Quarter
- After a Palm Beach Atlantic goal opened the scoring in the second half, Ashley Goldstein and Caroline Bailey got the next two goals, making it a 16-2 game.
- Following a Sailfish goal, Trautwein and Molly Mendes netted the final two goals of the period, giving the Tars a commanding 18-3 lead.
Fourth Quarter
- Madison McGarry scored just over 90 seconds into the fourth, and Trautwein followed that with back-to-back goals before a Sailfish goal wrapped up the scoring, giving Rollins a 21-4 win.

The Tars will wrap up this seven-game homestand on Wednesday, April 5, when they host No. 18 Embry-Riddle. That game is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. start at Barker Family Stadium.
