Emily MacMullen took things a step further by claiming the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Pitcher of the Week award as well.
Between March 20-26, MacMullen led Rollins to a 5-0 record last week with all five games coming on the road. The Tars swept a doubleheader against Flagler, and then captured three from Barry in a huge SSC conference series.
MacMullen started two games in the stretch, tossing a four-hit shutout against the Saints on Tuesday and a three-hitter against Barry on Saturday, earning the win in both games. She also added a third victory by pitching 6.2 innings of relief in the Tars 12-inning win over the Bucs on Saturday night.
Her other appearances included recording a save at Flagler during game two on Tuesday, and throwing a scoreless seventh inning in the third game against Barry on Sunday.
For the week, MacMullen threw 23.2 innings while allowing zero earned runs. She scattered 14 hits (ten singles, four doubles), walked six, and struck out 23. She lowered her season ERA from 2.63 to 2.11 over the course of the week, and improved to 13-7 overall with two saves.
Rollins now sits at 23-11 on the year with a 7-8 record in SSC play, good for fourth. They have a huge home series starting Friday against #3 ranked Tampa. First pitch is scheduled for 6:00 PM.
