NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. (February 21, 2023) - After receiving the SSC Offensive Player of the Week yesterday,
Abigail Cawley was recognized as the IWLCA Division II Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday afternoon. This marks the second straight week the Tars took home this honor, following
Caroline Gastonguay's selection on Feb. 14.
Cawley was unstoppable in Rollins' 15-11 win over No. 5 Grand Valley State on Saturday, posting nine points on four goals and five assists while also causing a pair of turnovers. All of her goals came in the first 31 minutes of the game, helping the Tars run out to an insurmountable 10-2 lead. The senior also demonstrated her abilities as a distributor, finding five different teammates for goals, primarily utilizing the space behind the net to work from. She either assisted or scored on five consecutive goals in the second and third quarters, including assisting on
Holyn Trautwein's goal that proved to be the game-winner.
Cawley and the Tars are off until March 2 when they will take on Shorter in a neutral-site game in Young Harris, Georgia at 2 p.m.
