MELBOURNE, Fla. (Nov. 21, 2023) – The Sunshine State Conference announced its All-Conference Volleyball teams on Tuesday, and a pair of Tars were among those listed.
Jadyn Troutman was selected to the Second Team, while
Lana Gerard earned a spot on the Third Team. They are the first two Tars to earn recognition on an All-SSC Volleyball team since 2017.
Troutman finished the season ranked sixth in the conference in hitting percentage (.293), seventh in total kills (381), eighth in kills/set (3.28), and ninth in points/set (3.74). She was also second on the team with 78 blocks (12 solo) and picked up 80 digs. Troutman eclipsed 20 kills three times in her first five matches at Rollins, including a season-high 22 kills in a 3-1 win over Chestnut Hill on September 2. The following weekend she notched her only double-double of the season, recording 11 kills and 12 digs in a 3-0 loss to Tusculum on September 8. Her season-high block total was nine, including four solo blocks, which came in a thrilling five-set loss to Eckerd on October 27.
Gerard ended the year with the most service aces in the SSC (47) and listed sixth in the league in total kills (391), kills/set (3.37), and points/set (3.92). She also registered 237 digs, second-most on the team, as well as 32 blocks (one solo). Gerard reached the 20-kill plateau in three matches, including a season-high 22 kills in a five-set defeat to Florida Southern on October 6. She posted a season-best 16 digs on two occasions, including a 16-kill, 16-dig effort in a 3-1 victory over Valdosta State on October 21, which was one of her seven double-doubles of the season.
