HOW IT HAPPENED:
Set One
  • Rollins quickly jumped out to a 9-3 lead in the opening set, but the Panthers clawed back to within a point at 13-12.
  • A Jadyn Troutman kill sparked the Tars to a 12-3 run to close out the set, giving the Blue and Gold a convincing 25-15 victory.
Set Two
  • Set two saw Florida Tech take an early 7-3 lead, but Rollins quickly closed the gap to a single point at 8-7.
  • The Panthers held their lead until late in the frame, when a Troutman kill capped a quick 3-0 burst that lifted the Tars to a 23-22 advantage.
  • Florida Tech answered with two straight kills to earn set point at 24-23.
  • A Gerard kill staved off set point, and a kill by Begley followed by a Panther error secured the set in favor of the Tars, 26-24.
Set Three
  • Set three was close early, with Rollins holding a slim 7-6 lead.
  • From that point, the Tars scored points in bunches, beginning with five straight to go up 12-6.
  • A 5-1 run followed that, making it 17-8, and a 6-0 run would put the margin at 14 points with the Blue and Gold leading it, 23-9.
  • A few points later, Horsley capped the match with a sneaky setter attack for the clinching kill, giving Rollins a 25-12 win and a 3-0 sweep.
