WINTER PARK, Fla. (April 30, 2022) – Rollins could not hold onto a late lead, as the Nova Southeastern Sharks used a pair of big innings to take the finale of the three game series by a score of 9-2. After taking the opening two games, Rollins ends the set at 30-8 overall and 21-6 in Sunshine State Conference play. Nova Southeastern improves to 34-12 with the win, and 20-7 in conference action.

Jaden Walker went 1-3 at the plate, with a homerun and a pair of RBI,. to lead the Tars.
Grace Germer went 2-3 with a run, while
Ashley Troutman also tallied a multi-hit performance.Â
Chelsea Peace was 1-3 with a double.Â
Ashley Worrell took the loss, allowing three runs on just two hits in 5.2 innings of work.Â
Emily MacMullen and
Katie Eicher each threw 0.2 innings in relief.

The top of the order did the damage for Nova Southeastern, with Alexis Smith, Ryleigh Langwell, and Tia Williams all hitting homeruns for the Sharks. Ashley Connor earned her 15
th win of the year, tossing a complete game while allowing six hits and two runs.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Fifth Inning
- Grace Germer started the inning with a two strike single to centerfield.
- One batter later Jaden Walker came to the plate and launched a homerun that just snuck over the centerfield wall, giving the Tars a 2-0 advantage.
Sixth Inning
- A Sharks two out rally doomed the Tars, as Nova Southeastern put up four runs in the frame.
- Smith started scoring run with a solo homerun, which was followed by a single, a walk, and a three run shot, putting the Sharks on top for good.
Seventh Inning
- Nova Southeastern would tally with a sacrifice fly, an RBI single, and their third homerun of the contest to add five insurance runs in their final at bat, and make the count 9-2.
- Germer reached with a bunt single to lead off the bottom of the seventh, but Rollins could not turn the hit into a rally, as the Shark salvaged one game in Winter Park.Â

The Tars head to No. 9 Tampa for their final series of the 2022 regular season. The three game set begins on Friday, May 6, with first pitch set for 6:00 p.m.
