TAMPA, Fla. (May 6, 2022) – The Tars earned a doubleheader split against the No. 8 Tampa Spartan, taking game one 1-0, but falling in game two 6-2. Rollins moves to 31-9 overall and 22-7 in Sunshine State Conference play. The Spartans head into the series finale at 34-11.

GAME ONE: Rollins 1, Tampa 0
Ashley Worrell led Rollins, tossing a one hitter. The senior hurler threw all seven innings, and fanned eight in the outing. The offense was led by Lexi Moore, who went 2-2 at the plate and scored the game's only run. Grace Germer also went 2-2.

Miner registered thee only hit for the Spartans. Galhouse was solid in the circle, allowing just five scattered hits, and one earned run over seven innings.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Second Inning
- Tampa threatened early getting the leadoff runner on, but Ashley Worrell struck out a pair to strand runs on first and second.
Sixth Inning
- A Lexi Moore one out single led to the game only score.
- Moore advanced to third on an Ashley Troutman single through the right side.
- Moore finally crossed the plate on a Raiven Bryant fielder's choice.
Seventh Inning
- Worrell induced three groundouts in the seventh to retire the Spartans in order.

GAME TWO: Tampa 6, Rollins 2
Rollins got two hits and a run from
Chelsea Peace to pace the Tars' offense.Â

Lexi Moore also got hits for Rollins.Â
Emily MacMullen tossed six innings, while allowing six runs, five earned, as she picked up the loss.

Miner tallied a 1-3 game, driving in a pair. Fantone, Keister, and Miller each registered a pair of hits, while Fantone scored twice. Feldman threw a complete game for the Spartans, allowing just two runs, none earned.

First Inning
- The Spartans got on the board early, manufacturing a pair of scores.
Third Inning
- Tampa grew their advantage to three with a two out rally.
Fourth Inning
- A Chelsea Peace single helped Rollins get their first run across the plate.
- Peace advanced on a Ashley Worrell single before scoring on a Spartan error.
Fifth Inning
- Taylor Waters would reach base on an error.
- The outfielder then crossed the plate to cut the deficit to one, at 3-2.
Sixth Inning
- The Spartans put the game away with three runs on the sixth.
