Groth and Falster End Fall in South Region Rankings

Senior and Freshman duo named one of the top doubles teams

The Intercollegiate Tennis Association has released their initial 2022-23 rankings following the conclusion of the fall individual season.

ITA Rankings

In the ultra-competitive South Region, senior Georgina Groth finds herself ranked in both singles and doubles. On the individual side, Groth checks in at #14 in the South. She had a solid run during the ITA South Regional, finishing in the round of 16 before falling against #3 Julie Razafindranaly. Last spring, Groth tied for the Tars' team lead in wins with ten, all of which came from the first position.

On the doubles end, Groth has teamed up with freshman Milla Falster to form the top Tars tandem. Together, they rank #7 in the South Region poll. At the South Regional, they were the #8 seed entering the tournament, and went 2-1 against stuff competition, eventually losing to #1 ranked Natalie Espinal and Fatima Bizhukova of Nova Southeastern.

Women's tennis will kick off the dual match season on February 3rd when they host Florida National at the Copeland Tennis Complex on campus.
